Scrolls I've Made

Illumination and Calligraphy are things I dabble in. Wherever possible I look at period art.

Personalized scene that is loosely based on a Swedish stone based on the Norse legend of Thor and the world serpent, jormongander, who is occasionally depicted as a water monster. Drawn as if a 14th century scribe was trying to recreate Norse art. Lol.

A 14th century inspired award

Japanese sparkle paper inspired by the 12th century tale of Genji.  Rice paper, gouache, mica based inks, for the line work and washes. Nori paste, and real gold and silver leaf gilt.

These photos were taken 3 years after the project was handed off, one panel had sun damage to the gilt.
